ARTISTS STATEMENT

I think it's incredibly important to get images out there of all kinds of women, of all different body types. There is such a restrictive view on what is beautiful in this world and it needs to be broadened. This obsession with perfection is so damaging to young girls, what is deemed "normal' is often so far from reality. I grew up feeling awkward and unattractive because I didn't have that conventional beauty seen in the magazines. You constantly try to be something you cannot possibly ever be, it's insane and depressing. Even now, I know women who are insecure about their looks, their genitalia, pretty much everything about their physical appearance. Personally I have gotten much more comfortable with my looks the older I get, and it is nice not to be focusing on it so much, as there is so much more to life! I also believe in normalising nudity. There are some friends who I mentioned this to who were completely shocked and asking "How could you do this!" THAT is why! I love nudity, I think it's beautiful to feel good in your nakedness and celebrate it with others. The more I let go of all that crap, the happier I become in my life. It's just skin, and it is lovely.
