ARTISTS STATEMENT
As a child, I adored being naked and rarely wore clothing. Some time in mid-primary school, I started to develop a shy hatred of my body, as happens all too often to young people. This worsened as a teenager, to the point where I was disgusted by my own body and ashamed of my sexuality. Now, as an adult, I have learned to love every inch of my skin, my fat and stretch marks included. Participating in Ishotmyself, for me, has been symbolic of fully embracing myself, and my sexuality most of all. Participating in Ishotmyself is my way of showing my body as something worthy of being seen, celebrated and desired. And it's a whole lot of fun, too!
